According to a prognosis from the skilled worker monitoring project of the chamber of commerce, unless a consistent effort is made, by 2030 the number of skilled employees in Baden-Württemberg will fall by 640,000 (18%).
In the face of changing demographics, regional businesses have an ever-increasing need for qualified employees. In the coming years, it will become more and more difficult to fill available positions solely with local employees. Recruiting experts and academics from foreign countries could be an effective method of reducing the shortage of skilled workers and maintaining the competitiveness of the regional economy.
The Rhine-Neckar Welcome Center supports small and medium-sized businesses in the region in recruiting and integrating skilled international employees and warmly welcomes said employees to the region. As a part of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region, the Welcome Center contributes to increasing international awareness of the region as an attractive location to both live and work. We serve as a contact point, help people navigate through the process of getting a job in Germany, and maintain contacts with other actors in the fields of personnel recruitment and integration.
The Rhine-Neckar Welcome Center is a collaborative organization of the cities of Mannheim and Heidelberg, as well as the Rhine-Neckar district. We pursue a comprehensive consulting concept and offer consultation hours across the whole region.
